On March 11, Olivia Neubauer will enjoy one hundred candles on her birthday cake. Teaching at Ashburn Lutheran School since the school’s founding in 1967, Mrs. Neubauer continues teaching reading three days a week for pre-k and kindergarteners and directs a spring play. Asked why and how she has continued teaching all of these years, Mrs. Neubauer replies, “I have faith in God and I love kids. All kids can be great readers.”
100th Birthday Celebration Events
Ashburn Lutheran Church and School will be giving thanks to God for Olivia’s contributions to the day school ministry on Sunday, March 11.
9:30am Worship with Thanksgiving for Mrs. Neubauer’s service and presentation of birthday cards.
10:45am Festive Coffee Hour
12:00pm Gala Fundraiser Lunch at the Martinique, 8200 South Cicero Avenue in Burbank, Illinois. Tickets are $75 and all proceeds will fund a new scholarship in Mrs. Neubauer’s name and the Annual Fund for the day school ministry.
